Political Asylum Granted for Columbian Oral Surgeon

My client had already discussed the case with other attorneys who told him he didn't have a strong case. Despite this, I helped the client file, and eventually win, his asylum claim.

Political Asylum Granted for Columbian Oral Surgeon
Jacob Tingen
Location: Arlington Asylum Office

Verdict: Asylum Granted

I recently represented a client in an affirmative asylum application.

The client, Camilo Leal, was an oral surgeon in Columbia who had decided to run for local political office.

However, as a result of his outspoken political opinions, he was threatened with death on multiple occasions by the so-called Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a group designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization.

On one occasion, FARC members arrived outside Camilo's home while they were present and fired a machine gun at the residence.

My client had already discussed the case with other attorneys who told him he didn't have a strong case.

Despite this, I helped him file, and eventually win, his asylum claim.

The family now has permanent residency and will soon be seeking citizenship in the United States.
